Speech Therapy

School based speech and language therapy addresses a variety of speech and language disorders including articulation, fluency, receptive, expressive, swallowing, resonance or voice, and/or cognitive-communication disorders. Speech therapists use multi-modal strategies to facilitate functional speech and verbal and non-verbal language across a variety of settings and with a variety of toys and activities.

Bloom focuses on increasing the student’s ability to functionally and independently communicate their wants and needs, improve social interactions, build vocabulary, and improve listening and processing skills through play, reading books, turn-taking, social stories, games, and more. You will often see our speech therapists working with students in the classroom and during play activities.
