Fall Music Fun:

For those who know me personally, they know that fall is my favorite time of the year. The changing colors on the trees, pumpkin spice everything and visits to the cider mill, there’s nothing better!

With fall also comes ghosts, bats, and jack o lanterns which lends to some of my favorite music interventions I have in my “music therapy tool box!” You can take a typical happy song and turn it to a creepy crawly sounding song by playing it in a minor key. Once you do that, the possibilities are endless. Students love the creepy feeling that comes with playing in minor and I am right there with them! By playing in minor it keeps their attention and brings a playful element to the intervention or song at hand.

Below is an example of how you can turn a classic children’s song into a spoooOOOooOOOoooOOOoooky song!

Happy Spooky Season everyone!
